Let's check out this tour's itinerary to start your plans for Japan…
Once preparations are complete at the store, we’ll set off immediately. The adventure begins in areas that international travelers rarely visit.
First, we’ll head south to the Aso area, a sacred place for riders in Kyushu. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of Aso, including the vast caldera along the Milk Road, the smoking Nakadake crater, the picturesque ponds, and the grazing horses at Kusasenri. On the first day, you can enjoy a pleasant ride through Japan’s natural beauty. We’ll spend the night immersed in the grandeur of Aso’s nature.
On this day, we will start riding along the Yamanami Highway, one of the beautiful roads to enjoy the mountains of the Kyushu region. The view from 'Daikanbo,' a natural observation deck at the highest peak of the northern outer rim of Aso, is truly captivating.
Next, we’ll head towards the north coast of the island, where a big challenge awaits us: the Kokonoe Dream large suspension bridge. With its 173 meters height above the water surface and 390 meters length, it is considered Japan's tallest pedestrian bridge. Here, we will also enjoy the astonishing beauty of the Shindo Waterfalls, which are listed among the 100 most beautiful waterfalls in the country. We will stay for the night at Shimonoseki area.
On this day, we will cross from Kyushu to Honshu via the Kanmon Straits! Our first stop will be the hidden gem, Motonosumi Inari Shrine. The breathtaking sight of 123 torii gates lined up over 100 meters along the coast is truly spectacular.
Next, we will head to Akiyoshidai, one of Japan’s top three karst plateaus and a designated Special Natural Monument. This plateau, which was once an underwater coral reef about 350 million years ago, now features a varied limestone highland. Enjoy a refreshing ride along the Karst Road, which winds through the expansive 8-kilometer grassland. We will then head northeast towards Hiroshima, passing through scenic areas between the sea and mountains. Our route will take us to the Kintai-kyo Bridge in Yamaguchi Prefecture, one of Japan’s representative wooden bridges, with its multiple arched spans enhancing the traditional Japanese charm. Finally, we will continue to our accommodation in Hiroshima Prefecture for the night.
Hiroshima Sightseeing Day (Riding Rest Day). Enjoy your free time exploring historical sites such as Miyajima Island and its iconic torii gate in the harbor, the A-Bomb Dome and its museum, and savoring Hiroshima’s famous okonomiyaki (a delicious teppan hotplate dish), among other local attractions.
On this day, we will first visit Miraishin Hill, a garden made of chalk marble, where you can enjoy the refreshing scent of lemons. Next, you’ll experience the gentle sea breeze of the Setouchi region. Finally, we will cross several islands and cross to Shikoku via the Shimanami Kaido, a route celebrated by CNN as one of the 7 most amazing cycling courses in the world.
Then we will arrive to the Dogo Onsen, known as Japan's oldest hot spring, you can enjoy a quaint hot spring town. Additionally, by taking a tram for a short ride, you'll have access to Matsuyama Castle and various dining districts. Please take your time to enjoy sightseeing in Matsuyama.
On this day, we will continue south through Shikoku and enter Kochi Prefecture. Departing from Dogo, we will head towards the Shikoku Karst, one of Japan’s top three karst plateaus. As we navigate the narrow mountain roads, you’ll be greeted by the stunning scenery of windmills and karst plateaus. After a short break, we’ll continue along more mountain roads and cross several famous sunken bridges known for being submerged when rivers rise. We will then arrive in Kochi City. In Kochi, why not try the local specialty at the famous Hirome Market and challenge yourself with straw-grilled bonito?
On this day, we will depart from Kochi and head north once again. Our destination is Kagawa Prefecture. We will enjoy winding roads through the scenic Iya Valley, where you might encounter familiar statues in unexpected places. Upon arriving in Kagawa, we will visit the beautiful Japanese garden, Ritsurin Koen. Spanning approximately 16.2 hectares, this garden features a large pond surrounded by rolling terrain that mimics mountains and valleys, designed to allow leisurely walks around the pond. As one of Japan’s top three gardens, take your time to appreciate the elegance of this splendid garden. We will stay at Takamatsu for the night.
On this day, we bid farewell to the nature-rich island of Shikoku and return to Honshu. We will cross the Naruto Strait, known for its large tidal whirlpools, and stop by Awaji Island along the way. You can enjoy panoramic views of the Naruto Strait from scenic terraces and savor local gourmet specialties.
From there, head to Rokko Garden Terrace, where you can enjoy a panoramic view stretching from the Akashi Strait to Kansai International Airport. This completes our journey before arriving to Kyoto.

Let's check out this tour's itinerary to start your plans for Japan…
On this day, we will take a break from riding and enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto. This will be a free day for sightseeing, so if you prefer to explore on your own, feel free to do so. Our guide will take you to three main attractions: the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), covered in gold leaf; the large Kiyomizu-dera Temple perched on a hill; and the picturesque bamboo groves in the Kodaiji Temple. Let’s explore these must-see spots in Kyoto together. (Transportation will primarily be by train and taxi.)
We will depart from Kyoto and ride to Nara, Japan's first capital in the 8th century. Nara is renowned for Todai-ji Temple and its massive statue of Buddha. Another charming feature of this city is the freely roaming deer that can be found everywhere!
Afterward, we will arrive at Mount Koya, one of Japan’s sacred sites and the center of Shingon Buddhism, founded by the prominent religious figure Kobo Daishi. Despite its small size, Mount Koya boasts a high concentration of revered sites, including Kongobuji Temple, the head temple of Shingon Buddhism, and Okunoin, where you can take a 2 km walk to Kobo Daishi’s mausoleum.
This day will be spent riding and visiting a World Heritage site nestled in the mountains of Kumano. Aquaculture (the breeding and harvesting of aquatic life) is also practiced along the coast of the Kii Peninsula, and we may have the opportunity to see the unique scenery of a Japanese port town, depending on the time of year. There are three major shrines in the Kumano area that are registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the tour will visit one of them: Nachi Taisha.
Nachi Falls, one of Japan's top three waterfalls, is located very close to Nachi Taisha and is a popular power spot believed to promote longevity. In fact, the three-legged crow "Yatagarasu," featured in the emblem of the Japanese national soccer team for many years, is actually a messenger of the gods of Kumano. You can find depictions of Yatagarasu everywhere, so keep an eye out for them.
After recharging your energy at this spiritual spot on the Kii Peninsula, enjoy the seafood of Wakayama and relax while savoring the scent of the ocean.
Today’s adventure begins in the scenic Shingu area, where we’ll embark on a ride to explore the picturesque Maruyama Senmaida rice terraces. After soaking in the beauty of these historic terraces, we’ll head towards the charming Kamidoro Bridge. Enjoy the serene atmosphere and capture some stunning photographs before we continue our journey.
Next, we’ll ride to Oni-ga-jo, a fascinating historical site where we’ll delve into the local history and enjoy a delicious lunch. Following our visit, we’ll proceed to the Yokoyama Observatory for breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Our day concludes with a ride to the Ise Jingu area, renowned for its spiritual significance and tranquil beauty.
Firstly, we’ll ride a short distance to Ise Grand Shrine, one of the top three shrines in Japan, to explore the rich history of this magnificent shrine. Set within a serene forest, with walkways dating back to the early 19th century, Ise Grand Shrine is dedicated to the Sun Goddess Amaterasu. This sacred site has been revered for over 2,000 years.
Next, we’ll head to the famous Suzuka Circuit, one of Japan’s renowned racing tracks. In addition to the circuit itself, there are plenty of activities including souvenir shopping and various attractions. After enjoying these experiences, we’ll make our way to our accommodation in Nagoya, adhering to the speed limits along the route.
On this day, we will head north and aim to reach a point where we can see Mount Fuji! Utilizing the highways, we will comfortably make our way to Shizuoka Prefecture. Among Japanese travelers, it's popular to sample local specialties at service areas along the highways. Not only for rest, but also make sure to try these regional delicacies!
The lunch stop will be at Numazu Port, where you can enjoy some delicious seafood. Afterward, we’ll ride along the Nishi-Izu Skyline, one of Japan's most popular riding roads. Tonight, unwind by the seaside in Izu and enjoy a relaxing evening.
Today is the final riding day. You will experience the thrill of riding on the Kawazu Loop Bridge, considered one of the most spectacular bridges in the world. Next, we will head to Amagi, renowned for its Japanese wasabi. Wasabi thrives only in pure, clean water and has natural antibacterial properties, making it a perfect accompaniment to raw dishes like sashimi for both its flavor and safety. Let's try to make wasabi pickling! After crossing the mountain roads of Izu, we will visit the Daikanbo Observatory, where you can take in stunning 360° views, including Mt. Fuji across Lake Ashi, the Southern Alps, and the extending peninsula.
Finally, let’s head back safely to the rental location. The day ends with a trip to Tokyo, Japan’s capital, where we will have a farewell party to reminisce about the journey.
Please check out of the hotel and begin your journey home; safe travels, and we look forward to seeing you on our next tour! You can join optional Tokyo short trip, if you are interested in it. A specialist guide will accompany you Shibuya area basically.
