Itinerary

Day1 Store (Niigata)→Ferry→Sado Island

Today, we will take a ferry to Sado Island, the largest island in the Sea of Japan.
Sado Island is a hidden treasure, rich in World Heritage history, stunning natural scenery, and delicious local cuisine.
The island is only accessible by ferry, and you can even bring your motorcycle on board. During the voyage, feel free to walk around the deck and enjoy the beautiful ocean views—don’t miss this unique experience!
As we will arrive in the afternoon, you can visit Toki no Mori Park, where you can see Sado Island’s iconic and protected bird, the Japanese crested ibis, up close.

Day2 Enjoy riding around Sado Island

We will start early in the morning and ride around the island.
One of the must-try experiences on Sado Island is the “Tarai-bune”, a traditional tub boat rowed manually by a boatman. This unique activity, often seen in Japanese animations, offers a peaceful drift across the Sea of Japan and is something you should not miss.
For lunch, enjoy Sado’s famous fresh seafood cuisine. In the afternoon, we will visit the Sado Gold Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can learn about the island’s rich mining history.
Afterward, we will ride along the coastline toward the northern tip of the island to see the spectacular rock formations of Onogame and Futatsugame.

Day3 The hotel (Sado Island)→Ferry→Store (Niigata)

On the final day, we will return to the mainland. The ferry ride from Sado Island to Niigata takes approximately 2.5 hours.
If you take a morning ferry, you will arrive in Niigata around noon. We highly recommend visiting “PIA Bandai”, known as “Niigata’s Kitchen.” It is the largest fresh food market in the city, where you can enjoy great restaurants or even select fresh seafood and grill it on-site at the outdoor BBQ area. You’ll also find a wide variety of local produce and souvenirs.
After a fulfilling experience for both body and mind, we will return the bikes at Rental819 Niigata, and look forward to your next adventure with us.
